Time to catch up!

Now that school has ended it is time for me to catch up on this blog. I couldn't believe that the last post was before the start of the new year. There has been a lot going on since then, some months busier than others. Here we go:
January/February- We spent these months focusing on work and kind of just relaxing. I had a Literacy class that I had to take for my teaching certification. It took up some week nights and weekends. Jason had some free time to himself where he got to enjoy playing his video games haha. We didn't really go anywhere fun or exciting. We were still getting used to the fact that we were pregnant and had to start planning on our new addition :-) In Feb. we decided to paint the baby room. We went with some greens and kept it neutral.
As with most of the country we didn't really have a winter here in Idaho Falls. There were a couple of times that it snowed a few inches but it never really stuck to the ground for very long. Jason spent a good number of his "off" Fridays at Grand Targhee skiing. He enjoyed his skis and got some good use out of them before the end of the season. He never did make it to the slopes in Jackson, but hopefully next year!

March-We celebrated our first anniversary! That year flew by! We went to an Inn in Idaho Falls called Destinations Inn. Each room that they have is decorated like a different place around the world. We went to "Athens." It was a nice relaxing weekend. We also ate our cake top that we had frozen. It was still very tasty! Jason bought me some cheesecake and the Lion King for my birthday. He said the movie was from the kitties. He got me a beautiful new watch :-) I think the most exciting part of March was that we had our 20 week ultrasound and found out that we are having a boy. There was also a trip to NY for my spring break. My family had an early baby shower and I was so happy to see all my friends and family. We got a lot of great things for the baby.
These are pictures of our room at the Destinations Inn

We even had sparkling cider and cheesecake waiting for us when we arrived :-)

There was a massage table but no masseuse...haha

Very nice tub through

Happy 1st Anniversary!

We made steak and Gorgonzola tortellini for our anniversary dinner!

Here is our yummy cake!

I love how they captured the arrow to point to the boy proof!

Jason got a Daddy diaper bag full of goodies!

He was practicing with the monkey
In the Daddy tool kit there were goggles...hope he doesn't have to use them!

Love my family!
April -We colored eggs for Easter and made an Easter feast for the two of us. There were a bunch of nice weekends in April so we also made it to Mesa Falls for a little day trip. Mid-April we started our 12 week baby class. So a lot of our time has been spent doing some readings for homework and reading a whole bunch of other research/books. I sometimes wonder if it is really a good idea to give pregnant women so much research at the tip of their fingers haha!

He is such a good sport he pretends to have fun every year....lol

Yum ham!!

My favorite fruit dessert

Ham, creamy potatoes, and green bean casserole

There was still a little snow on the roads

May - This month has been busy with school wrapping up. It has started to feel like spring as well and we have started mowing the lawn again and have turned on the sprinklers. Jason was excited to buy some vegetables for our garden. I think we started a little too early and some of the cold nights got most of our plants; however we still have hope for the raspberry and blueberry bush haha. Some of the peppers might still make it too. Next year we will wait and start in June.
We have also spent a lot of time putting together a lot of the larger baby items: crib, dresser, swing, stroller, etc. Kinda early still, but if anyone knows me they know I am a freak when it comes to planning and having things ready.  I promise to put some pictures of the room up once it is more organized. It is just a pile of stuff here and there at the moment.
A couple weekends ago we went to Yellowstone. There wasn't as much snow as last year when we went at the same time, but there was some in the higher elevations. We went to see the entire Yellowstone Lake. We had never made it to that part of the lower loop and of course we stopped to watch Old Faithful go off. It was a really nice and sunny day when we went.
The buffalo were our roaming around

And to end here is the famous phone/mirror shot as I was getting ready for church. This is at 31 weeks. We are down to two months! I will do better on the updates as I will be home all the time now :-)
